    Scholarship Opportunities:
     
    Clare County Kiwanis Scholar-Athlete Award is now available. You will need to pick up an application at the Guidance Office. This scholarship will be awarded based on your GPA, years of athletics and Varsity letters earned, and also your extra-curricular activities. They will choose one male and one female athlete. Applications must be returned to the Guidance Office by March 15, 2019.
     
    Home Builders' Association of Central Michigan has two different scholarship opportunities. One is for students going in to a building industry related field of study (i.e. architecture, construction management, electrical, plumbing, etc.). Click here for instructions and an electronically fillable application. The other is for applicants who are the children/grandchildren of a Home Builders' Association member. Click here for instructions and an electronically fillable application. Instructions and applications for both scholarships are also available at the Guidance Office. Applications due at Home Builders' Association Office by March 31, 2019.
     
    Clara Rebekah Lodge #167 is again giving a $500 scholarship to a Clare, Farwell or Harrison student. The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and have a good attendance record. For more information and scholarship application, please come to the Guidance Office. Applications must be mailed to the scholarship chairman by April 1, 2019.
     
    Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) has launched a scholarship competition for the 2019-20 school year. Scholarships will range from $1,000 to $1,500 and there are 21 available. To be eligible, the student or their parent must be employed at a business that is a member of MRA. Get more information and apply online at bit.ly/mrascholarships. Applications must be requested by March 15 and submitted by April 1, 2019.
     
    Lake Rod & Gun Club Scholarship is now available. This is one $500 college scholarship to a high school senior. The applicant must be attending a university or college and studying in the fields of: Conservation, Fisheries and Wildlife Management, Natural Resources, Botany and Forestry. Please come to the Guidance Office for more information on how to apply. Application must be postmarked by March 31, 2019.
     
    The Clare County Democratic Party is accepting applications for a college scholarship for students that are actively participating in the political process and civic and community activities. The Party will award on $1000 scholarship. Information and applications are available at the Guidance Office. Applications are due no later than 5:00 pm on April 1, 2019.
     
    9&10 News Future Leaders scholarship is available. This requires a video application that you can submit to 9and10news.com under the Community tab. Look there for information and requirements. Application deadline is April 12, 2019.
     
    The Ohio-Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools is offering its 2019 LEADS! Scholarship Program for Ohio and Michigan high school seniors. Please go to www.omaccs.org and click on the scholarship link for more information. Applications are also available at the Guidance Office. The deadline for applications is April 12, 2019.
     
    The Professional Women in Building Council are offering scholarships to students who are to begin or are continuing their education in the skilled trades. The scholarship is available to either part-time students who are working in the industry or full-time students who wish to enter skilled trades. Scholarships are awarded based on career goals, work experience and/or community service. Applications are available at the Guidance Office or you can go here to download the application. Applications are due no later than Friday, April 12, 2019.
     
    First American Manufacturing Finance has a scholarship program, Future Leaders of Manufacturing Scholarship, to support students pursuing an education that will help in their pursuit of high demand manufacturing jobs. The scholarship is for $3,000. Please visit www.manufacturingfinance.com/scholarship for more information and to apply.
