As you know, in person classes have been cancelled for Clare High School, as well as all Michigan Public Schools, for the 2019-20 school year. Below are a few details you will want to be aware of during this closure.

    Senior Cap and Gown's
Seniors who have ordered their caps and gown's may pick them up on Tuesday, May 5th from noon until 3pm.  Students or parents should pull up to the front of the high school where staff will be available to get you your supplies.  Please remain in your vehicles.

    Graduation
At this time we are still planning for an in person graduation.  The original ceremony was planned for May 31st.  If this date is not able to occure we have reserved June 28th, July 26th and August 7th as alternate dates.  We are also working with 104.3 FM on a radio commencement on May 23rd as well as TV 7 & 4 on a television commencement on May 30th.  In order for students to be featured in the TV commencement they need to complete and return this release form no later than May 8th.  The completed form may be emailed to mforsberg@clare.k12.mi.us, or dropped off in person at the meal distribution in front of the primary school on May 4th, or at cap/gown pick up at the high school on May 5th.

    Office Hours
Please see the link below for teachers scheduled office hours. Teachers will monitor emails and messages periodically throughout the day, but will be available during office hours for immediate contact.

    Distance Learning
Distance learning for students officially began on April 13th.  This distance learning will allow students the opportunity to earn credit for their second semester classes. Students should be sure to check their school emails regularly, as well as their google classrooms for assignments.  All assignments will be evaluated on a credit/no credit basis by teachers.  These assignments are required if students want to earn credit for the semester.

    Students without internet access
Students without internet access may receive paper assignments in place of online work.  Students must contact the high school office, or one of their teachers to arrange for those packets.  Parents may pick up these packets for their students on Monday's, from 4-5:30 during meal distribution.  Completed packets can be returned the following Monday, and new packets will be available at that time.

    Chromebook Repair:
If a student has a school issued chromebook that is not working properly during the school shut down, parent/guardians can drop the device off on Monday's from 4-5:30 during meal distribution.  Loaner devices will be available until the students device is repaired.

    Prom
Unfortunately, this years prom will not take place as it was scheduled.  If the opportunity presents itself for such an event to be held at a later date our student council will explore those options.

    SAT Test
The SAT test will be administered to this years Junior students next fall.  Students should continue to keep their skills sharp for this test

    Sports
At this time all Winter and Spring MHSAA sports have been canceled.  Spring athletic fees will be reimbursed as soon as the stay at home order is lifted.
