  • Teacher and Support Staff COVID-19 Grants:
     
    This week the Michigan Department of Treasury announced a COVID-19 grant for educational staff that provided services to students during our spring closures. This grant will come directly from the Treasury to the eligible staff members. We will be emailing or mailing the grant certification form to eligible teachers and support staff by November 9, 2020 based on the state's reporting to us. It is important to note that there may be employees that are qualified for the grant based on title and FAQ's, but do not meet the eligibility requirements of the grant.
     
    If you do not receive an email or letter by November 9, 2020 notifying you that you are eligible and wish to appeal, please email Amber Kruskamp (akruskamp@clare.k12.mi.us) no later than December 4th. FAQ's are provided here: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/treasury/
     
    Please read the FAQ's prior to any appeal and include justification for eligibility in the appeal.

  • Food Service Update - Free Meals

    GREAT NEWS!!! All breakfasts and lunches will be FREE until JUNE 30, 2021, per the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

    For who?

    All children in the Clare community ages 18 and under (regardless of income). Families are asked to still complete the free/reduced meal application and/or household survey for the 2020-21 school year.

    How do I receive these meals?

    Face-to-Face Students: Your account will not be charged for the breakfast/lunch you receive each day at school. Every Friday, you will be sent home with meals for the weekend.

    Virtual Students and Community Members ages 18 and under: 

    Virtual students/community members 18 and under can pick up meals for all 7 days on Mondays from 3:30pm-5pm in the bus loop.

    When does this begin?

    NOW!

    Weekend meals for face-to-face students will be distributed starting September 11, 2020

    Pick-up for virtual students began August 31, 2020

    Pick-up for community members will begin September 14, 2020

    What if my student purchased breakfast or lunch the first week of school before this announcement?

    All accounts have been credited for any meals that were charged this school year.

  • Email Contact Updates

    Parents of CPS students: We are collecting email contact information for parents, in an effort to quickly update our information systems and get important updates to you in a timely manner. The form allows for 3 student names - if you have more than 3 children in school, please submit the form again so that we connect your email contact with all your children. Thanks for all that you do for Clare Public Schools.

  • Second Semester Virtual Registration Now Open!

    Virtual Registration Form

    - Use this form if you are a current virtual student who wishes to remain in virtual school.

    - Use this form if you are an in-person student who wishes to move to virtual school.

    Registration closes at noon on Tuesday, December 1st.  The month of December will be used to make staffing decisions.

    If you are a virtual student who wishes to return to in-person school for 2nd semester, please contact the appropriate building principal at your earliest convenience.

    Second semester begins on Tuesday, January 26th.

    Each month while school is in session, we will recognize exemplary employees that make up our exceptional school system. 
     
    Announcing the October 2020 MVP(s) -- Most Valuable Pioneer(s): Mrs. Andrea English, Kindergarten Teacher and Mrs. Jessica Evans, Student Support Specialist
     
    Congratulations to this month's Most Valuable Pioneers (MVPs): Mrs. Andrea English and Mrs. Jessica Evans.
     
    Mrs. English is a kindergarten teacher at the Primary School, and this semester serving as our teacher for virtual students. She has been exemplary in her efforts to make sure the learning fits for each individual student, and adept at working with families. Andrea is a passionate teacher & learner, and willing to adapt to make the educational experience for all students successful.

    Mrs. Jessica Evans is one of our student support specialists. She is best known for brightening the day of just about anyone she encounters, but she specializes in helping kids who are struggling for any reason at all. Jessica is an excellent listener, great problem solver, and simply "there" for all that are in need.

  • November 2020 Board Meeting

    The November 16, 2020 Clare Public Schools Board of Education meeting will take place in the Clare High School Cafeteria at 7:00 p.m.  Attendees must wear face coverings and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
